Well last week i tried to drive the bu.Started out of the drive way then all of a sudden the gas pedal was free.I stopped and looked under the hood. The freakin Cable broke right on the cable. I ordered a new cable and it came in over the weekend. Finally got it installed tonight.
Next step is a good tune up.I am hoping to have it tuned up by next weekend. After i get it tuned up i am going to get started on swapping in the 12 bolt. _________________ www.cristascrafts.com

How old is the broken cable? I've never seen one break. _________________ Darren

I had one stick going thru the traps at 102 mph. I was pushing the brake pedal thru the floor trying to get that thing to stop. Finally, I tried to pop it into neutral but shifted it into reverse because of a sloppy column shifter. It locked up the rear tires spun 360 degrees and came to a stop in the other lane. It stuck so bad the track guy had to kick it to get it to snap back. I got the car back home and replaced the cable...nothing else was hurt. _________________ www.myspace.com/laidoutcustom

Had one stick once like that but I was driving to work and it was in a 82 full size chevy van, I just put in neutral and shut her down, pulled the dog house off (while I was in the center lane out of the way) and pushed on the throttle connect to get it to snap back. I went to the auto parts place that weekend. _________________ www.ktownracescene.com

I haven't had a sticking issue with the cable, but I have had the gas pedal get stuck under the floor mat once or twice _________________ Darren

I was thinking of replacing mine cuz it is frayed right at the carb, but my dad said he'd never seen one break before so just leave it...
what kind did you buy? I always see those universal ones in the chrome spectre dress up section at the auto parts store, but I don't think those look that reliable.

Yea, replace that sucker. That's how mine started. Mine felt like a new motor after that...it was alot more responsive with that smoother cable. _________________ www.myspace.com/laidoutcustom
